3rd place at Folkestone contest in the 1st Section 2008

We gained third place out of an entry of ten bands in the First Section at Folkestone Contest playing Philip Sparke’s test piece Endeavour. The band are very pleased, particularly as it was the first contest outing for their latest recruit – Connor Burgess on Eb bass who, at only 13 years of age, made an excellent job of the exposed muted bass section opening passage.

We played James Cook Circumnavigator in the First Section of the area contest at Stevenage. Although it was a disappointing result, the band enjoyed the day out and remain in the first section for 2008-09.

We had a successful weekend at the Whit Friday Marches 2008, the highlight of which was a 7th place at Grotton.
